Cape Ann

January ends

What an amazing January. Mid-sixties today, and we're not complaining!

Cape Ann in October...

Post date: Oct, 26 2011

....is  beautiful! We're here in Gloucester, on Cape Ann--very close to where the seaside knitters live and work—for two weeks of research, walking the beach (a balmy 65 degrees yesterday), smelling the salt air.  Our small cabin is across the street from Niles Beach--90 steps away. It's a perfect place to think and write and come up with ideas for book seven in the series. And the most wonderful bonus is having room for our 3 & 5-yr-old grandkids to spend the night! Soccer games, ballet classes, Halloween parties--and writing. A most wonderful mix.

October magic

Post date: Oct, 07 2010

It's absolutely magical in Kansas City right now. 70s, sunny, and soft cool breezes, though it's also deadline crunch time for me. The Wedding Shawl is 'almost' finished and will soon be winding its way to my amazing editor who will gently suggest ways to make it better. The publishing world has its own clock, I think. This book will be out next May...though the cover is already done and the book in the final stages ("she said hopefully").

Monday

FIrst a weather report....Sunny and warm on Cape Ann. HUMID and rainy in Kansas City. After a very active fourth of July the kids are worn out and adults trying to catch up on emails, writing, and other things.

I received cover copy for the next Saside Knitters mystery (November, 2010)--A Holiday Yarn--and I think the artist did a lovely job so I wanted to share it with you. Hope you like it, too.

Happy week to all.

happy fourth!

I hope everyone is having a leisurely 4th weekend--maybe some reading, knitting, and brats on the grill?  We have  excited grandkids pulling out trikes to decorate for tomorrow's parade. I'm not sure they will be awake for the fireworks, but we'll give it a try. Have a great day!

A beautiful summer day

Post date: Jun, 30 2010

Today was an amazing day in Kansas--low humidity, blue skies, 80s. Amazing. I hope you all fared as well. And it was even more amazing for me because my Cape Ann family is here for a few weeks to liven our days (Ruby is 2 and Luke, 4) and bring great laughter into our lives.

A new look!

Post date: Jun, 19 2010

Happy day to everyone and welcome to the new look for my Website! I promised I'd pass along books news, along with Nell, Izzy, Cass, and Birdie's patterns and recipes. And now, at last, I have the tools I need to do it, thanks to Danny, my wonderful web guru.
