Nell's Shawl

Nell’s Sea Silk Scarf

In Death by Cashmere, Nell wore this hand-knit scarf to Margarethe Framingham’s summer gala out at the Framingham estate on Cape Ann. (My thanks to Marla Shoemaker from Manhattan, KS, who knit this gorgeous version of Nell's scarf, and her daughter Autumn, who so beautifully photographed it. Nell's was in a different color, but Marla's is equally beautiful. More photos are posted with the pattern itself.)

Cass' shawlette

Cass did a wonderful job knitting her first sweater, and her mother Mary loved it. Izzy found the pattern for her and she received plenty of support and help from Nell, Izzy and Birdie. Her mother loved the shawlette because it kept her warm in church and didn't fall off her shoulders.I'd love to see photos if any of you  knit this lovely piece.

Head Hugger Chemo Cap

A wonderful reader, Sue Thompson, sent an updated pattern of the head huggers cap (designed by Joyce Forker) that the seaside knitters knit in Patterns in the Sand. Here it is, along with a great photo Sue sent.

Dead Fish Hat

Cass Halloran knit these hats for her brother Pete's band, the Fractured Fish (Moon Spinners). And in A Holiday Yarn, the Cape Ann band wears them when they play holiday music for the town of Sea Harbor. Photos of the hats, created by Thelma Egberts can be found here. You can also download the pattern pdf below.

MaryAnn Sines knit up the pattern and shared this photo. Thank you, MaryAnn! And read on for another reader's photos.

Birdie's Sexy Socks

Birdie used a 4-ply soft merino wool to knit up the Rowan "Anna" Pattern. The panels of lace stitches run the full length of the knee-high sock and add a distinctive and lovely look to the black socks. Birdie says checking gauge with these socks is especially important. The pattern is found in the Rowan Book #40. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a copy of the pattern. If anyone has access to it (or a pattern for a similar sock) please let me know!

Seaside Knitters knitting patterns

I hope you enjoy spending some time admiring the Seaside Knitters patterns and finished products posted here. Perhaps they'll inspire you to try one or two on your own. I've also included some photos of finished Seaside Knitters sweaters, shawls, and hats knit by readers. Such talent! Izzy, Nell, Cass and Birdie would love to have each of them drop in the shop some day.

If you have any photos of patterns mentioned in the Seaside Knitters mystery series and wouldn't mind me posting them, please send them along!
